After discussions at several meetings, Parish Councillors in Higham unanimously voted to twin Higham with Novyi Bilous in north east Ukraine.
Cllr Jordan Meade said:
'This morning it was an honour to support Higham Parish Council 2024 in their twinning with the Novyi Bilous Community in Chernihiv Ukraine. I’m thrilled that Higham and Novyi Bilous have today decided to enter into a formal twinning agreement. When I visited the villages of Novyi Bilous earlier this year, I was struck by the similarities between our villages and the pride that they have for their education and heritage. We stand with the people of Ukraine, in a united friendship and I look forward to supporting both communities develop this new friendship as part of our ongoing commitment to the wider Chernihiv region
Councillor John Gray, Chairman of Higham Parish Council said:
