Campaigning

The Gravesham Conservative Association feel it is of vital importance to assist neighbouring Constituency Associations with their campaigning.

A great deal of time is dedicated by our members in regularly helping Conservatives in both Kent and London with tasks ranging from delivering leaflets, canvassing on the doorstep, attending social events, and even those unable to travel often contribute by helping out in our Gravesend office.

There are very few paid employees in any Constituency Association, and we rely on the goodwill and enthusiasm of our members in every activity we undertake. Everybody within the Conservative Party plays a vital role in ensuring the Association operates to achieve its main objective - that of WINNING ELECTIONS.

The future of the Conservative Party is very much in the hands of its members. So no matter how little or how much time you can give, it will be well used. If you would like to get involved please get in touch at mailto:gravesham.tories@lineone.net

There are a number of different ways to get involved:

As a Deliverer

As such you would be responsible for an area of houses and would undertake to deliver newsletters to those houses when needed (probably four times a year - plus extra deliveries at election time).

In Local Campaign Days

Councillors and local activists are often out campaigning in groups in the community, whether that means leafleting, canvassing or fundraising. These days are usually followed by a pub lunch or a drink, and are a great way to get some exercise!

As a Canvasser

When you carry out surveys/canvassing in your area in order to gain information about the elector’s voting intentions, worries and concerns, etc. This information enables us to campaign effectively and helps to increase our membership base.

As a Fundraiser

Many people find they have hidden talents and get involved helping to organise the many varied social events that take place throughout the year. Everyone, whether attending the event or helping prior to, or on the day it, is helping to raise funds for the Party and enjoying themselves in the process.

Getting involved at Branch Level

Like any volunteer organisation a local Conservative Branch can only be strong and effective if it has a group of active members. If you wish to take part in your local branch you can get involved with campaigning at a number of levels depending upon the amount of time you wish to spend.

As a Branch Committee Member

Every local branch helps with building up membership, raising money, communicating with the electorate and campaigning to win elections. Each Branch is run by a local Committee of enthusiasts.  We are always looking for more ”Chiefs” who enjoy talking through, setting up and carrying out these tasks.
